Co's. A, B, and C.

All had Engineer Rcn. ia area adjacent to Base camp within 5 miles radius Rcn, consisted of, Classification of Bridges and roads using the British Classification System. Bridge cards were also used, stressing the location of Bridge and Road materials, types and quantity.

Co. A, had a three hour tactical march with a surprise gas attack . Smoke pots were used in lieu of gas. Had inspection in ranks in the afternoon.

Co. B, Army talks, Chemical Warfare and first aid of Gas Casualties, also Supply Discipline in the morning. Inspection in ranks in the afternoon.

Co. C, Rigging, Supply Discipline, Army talks, Chemical Warfare. Inspection in ranks in the afternoon.

Co. A,
Moved to Mapledurham for training on Treadway Bridges on Sunday evening.

Co. B,
Construction and reconstruction of roads in Battalion Area and roads adjacent to Battalion area. Moved to Mapledurham at night.

Co. C,
One platoon at area 439, one platoon at area 39 remainder of Company in battalion area on Minefields.

Co. A,
At Mapledurham on Treadway Bridges moving in at 0900.

Co. B,
Moved to Mapledurham for training on treadway bridges.

Co. C,
Moving out to Mapledurham tonight left I.P. at 2100 for training on treadway Bridges.

Co. A,
Working in battalion area garnishing camouflage nets.

Co. B,
Moved to battalion area at 0800. Working in battalion area garnishing camouflage nets.

Col. Rowland and Major Slear, Commanding Officer and S-3 of 1103d Engr C Gp paid this headquarters a visit at 1530 hours departed at 1600 hours.

Army Talks, Engr Recon and Tactical March.

Close Order drill, Bayonet Drill, unarmed defense. Chemical Warfare, Army Talks, and Squad Tactics.

Companies A, B, and C:
Garnishing of nets and making of clothing.

Col. Carter, The Engineer of First U. S. Army, paid this battalion a visit at 1230 departed at about 1315 hours.

H&S Staff and Service functions during the day.

Line companies departed for Bivouac area between the period of 1500 and 1700 hours.

Bn-Advance CP and H&S Co. departed Clifton heath at 1930 hours by Motor Convoy. Arrived at The Views, Oxfordshire at 2015 hours. Morale Excellent.

Col. Rowland, CO, and Major Gruber, Supply Officer both of 1103^rd Engr C Gp. paid this battalion a visit at 1555 hours departed at about 1615.

Entire company in vicinity of "Great Milton", on repair and maintenance of roads using asphalt heater.

Long revised: The entire morning spend on preparation for inspection (0800 to 1000) and the inspection by Co. Officers (1000 to 1200). The Line companies had a series on Bn. Tests, until 1300. From 1300 to 1530 preparation for parade, and parade and Review from 1600 to 1700 and Retreat.

At 0800 to 1200 a schedule of rigging, 1300 to 1400 a class on first aid, 1400 to 1430 Aircraft Identification, 1430 to 1500 Supply Discipline, and at 1500 to 1700 Engr. Recon.

Co. B,
At 0800 to 1700 a schedule plan of Practice Loading and convoy Operation.
