FIFTY SECOND ANNUAL REUNION
The turnout last year was less than at the 50th. but still very successful. We had a First Timer in Bob Crimmins, who had a great time and is hoping to attend this year. Another who hadn't attended in many years is Don Galli, and we expect to see him back again. Also we were glad to see Edmond Manfredi, who had not been to the gathering in several years.
Following is a list of attendees at the 51st. Reunion:
Maine - Alyre Ayotte, George Kimball, George Restuccia.
Also in attendance were Stan Wojtusik, National President of the Veterans of the Battle of the Bulge. Tom Jones VP, and John McAullife, Pres. of Western Ma. VBOB, along with Charlie Calri, VBOB member from Falmouth.
Once again we are in debt to those who were unable
to attend, but sent generous contributions for dues and Hospitality Room
We can't thank these people enough, as their contributions go a long way in defraying the expenses. If I have missed anyone, please let me know and I will make sure to include your name in my next letter.
Plaques were awarded to the following men of the
150th. Eng. for years of dedicated services.
Sadly, we have a few more departed comrades since the last reunion. These names will be read along with all of our other deceased comrades of the 150th. Eng. at our Ceremony, Thursday evening. The ceremonies are lead by our Honor Guards from Dedham, Ma. with Bill Morrissey as Sergeant of Arms. Last year, Taps were blown by Al Madden, who has played Taps at Military Funerals World Wide.
On a lighter note, the 150th. Eng. Combat Battalion, is now on the Internet, thanks to Bob Pitts, and his son Rick. You can connect to our Website at this address. (Use all small letters except capital C in Combat and E in Engineers. No Spaces.)
You can send Bob Pitts E-Mail using: Click here for email
As of now, there are very interesting stories and articles on the Website by Bill Morrissey, John David, Bob Pearl, Norm Southergill, and Col. Reagan. A Listing of our reunion, pictures of bridges we built, and other interesting accounts of the 150th. are available for all to enjoy. Our many thanks to Bob and Rick Pitts, who will continue to update information about the 150th.
Although I do not have a computer, some of my children, and grandchildren have computers, and have gone into the Website and printed up information off the Website for my use. Most of you I'm sure, have children or friends with access to the Internet, or maybe your public library will allow you to view our Website pages. Enclosed is the reunion reservation form which shows just a slight increase. Please mail your response in early, the rooms are on a first come, first served basis. From the rooms that have already been reserved, and many are arriving on Monday, it is shaping up to being another great reunion. Wishing you a good winter, and looking forward to seeing all of you at Shoreway Acres in May of 98.
