Made assault crossing of Moselle River. Mission being completed and company was relieved of assignment at 0300 hours 9 Sept. 44. 9 assault boats were lost, 3 men killed, 12 wounded in action. Clearing mines and ferrying Infantry across Moselle River.

Co. A
Resting and cleaning equipment. Arrived 1 ½ miles SW of Bonnet by motor convoy at 0530 hours. Left same at 1400 hours and arrived 2 miles West of Blenod-Les-Toul at 1700 hours.

Co. B
Resting and cleaning of equipment. Departed Chambley at 1330 hours by motor convoy and arrived 1 ½ miles NE of Blenod-Les-Toul at 2230 hours.

Battalion mission was to force two crossings of the Moselle River in vicinity of Crevechamps. Sites were know as A, B & C Site.

A & C site to be treadway bridge with priority to C Site. B site was to be Infantry foot bridge. A Company and B Company were engaged in the construction of this mission. Co. C providing security with assistance of the 137^th Infantry Regt. Company B had 5 men wounded and 2 men from Med. Det. Wounded.

Co. A
Was assigned the mission of ferrying Infantry across Moselle River vicinity of Crevechamps.

Co B
Mission was to ferry Infantry across the Moselle River in the vicinity of Crevechamps, also cleared all approaches in the vicinity of both bridgeheads of mines.

Co. C
Constructed 130' foot bridge 2 miles South of Crevechamps at Neuviller-Sur-Moselle. On 12 September, 44 we completed 160' Treadway bridge, this was the first bridge across the Moselle River.

Completed Treadway bridge (372 ft. long) across Moselle River at 1200 hours.

Co. B
2^nd Platoon constructed Bailey bridge over Canal near Crevechamp. Remainder of Company resting in Bivouac area.

Co. C
Third platoon maintained bridge and approaches at Neuviller SW of Moselle. Remainder of Company in Bivouac area resting.

Co. A
1^st and 3^rd platoons waiting to support the 60^th Engrs on an assault crossing of the Meurth River, near Resiers. Left 1 mile East of Ormes-Et-Ville at 1300 hours by motor march and arrived ½ mile South of Ferrieres at 1430 hours.

Departed area 1 mile SE of Benny at 1300 hours and arrived Ferrieres at 1430 hours. No operations for the day.

Disassembled treadway bridge at Neuviller-Sur-Moselle. Departed 2 miles South of Benny at 1300 hours and arrived at Ferrieres at 1530 hours.

Rcn for and acquisition of bridge materials between St. Nicholas and Rosieres. 1^st Platoon repaired road near Fleville. 2^nd squad, 3^rd platoon alerted to clear mines at Varageville.

Co. C
Construction of Class 70 Bailey bridge across canal in Nancy. Construction of Class 40 treadway bridge across Meurthe River at Nancy.

Co. A
Support of 137^th Infantry crossing of Meurthe. 2^nd and 3^rd platoons removed mines from streets at Art-Sur-Muerthe, 1 squad maintenance of treadway bridge.

Co. B
1^st platoon repair and maintenance of canal crossing. 1 squad removed mines from streets at Art-Sur-Muerthe.

Co. C
Construction of class 40 treadway bridge at Nancy. Maintenance of 4 bridges at Nancy. On the night of 17 Sept. Co. C slept in beds in a German hospital which use to be a French professional school before the war in Nancy.

Co. A
Removal of mines from streets at Art-Sur-Muerthe, maintenance of treadway bridge. Left 1 mile SW of Rosieres at 1800 hours by motor march and arrived ½ mile North of Sornville at 2100 hours. Operated with battalion moving to new destination.

Co. B
Repair and maintenance of canal crossing, removal of mines from streets at Art-Sur-Muerthe till relieved. Departed area 1 mile SW of Rosieres at 1800 hours by motor convoy and arrived at area 1 mile North of Sorneville at 2100 hours. Usual camp duties performed.

Co. C
Departed from Nancy by motor convoy at 1100 hours arrived 3/4 mile NnW of Rosieres at 1601 hours. Departed from Rosieres at 1830 and arrived ½ mile South of Mazerulles at 2200. 2^nd platoon maintaining three bailey bridges (300 ft. long) also clearing mines in vicinity of Nancy.

Departed 1 mile SW of Rosieres at 1800 hours by motor march and arrived 1 mile South of Moncel-Sur-Seille at 2200 hours.

Battalion attached to 4^th Armored Division - To be close support of 4^th Armored Division.

To perform Engineer tasks in support of North column, area of 4^th Armored Division. Removal of obstacles in Chateau Salins, 2^nd platoon of Co. A left ½ mile North of Sorniville at 0930 hours by motor march and arrived 1 mile South of Chateau Salins at 1035 hours. Morale excellent.

Co. B.
To perform Engineer tasks in support of South column, area of 4^th Armored Division. Departed area 1 mile North of Sorneville and arrived at area ½ mile North of Fresnes-Saulnois at 1715 hours.

Co. C
Maintenance of 4 bridges in the vicinity of Nancy. 2^nd platoon removed obstacles from MSR, Route N-74. Departed from ½ mile South of Mazerulles by motor convoy at 1000 hours and arrived at ½ miles West of Salina at 1030 hours. 1^st squad of 1^st platoon did some mine sweeping in vicinity of Salins. Rest of Company stood by for assignment.
